Globoid cams and their gears are characterized by rotating input and output drives and the vertical alignment of the axes of rotation of the cams and output link. In cam disks and cylinder cams, on the other hand, the roller axis is perpendicular to the movement plane of the output drive.<\/p>\n<p>In general, control cams are mechanical program memories for gear mechanisms. They define motion sequences, acceleration ramps, position dwell times and cycle frequencies of the final gear units.<\/p>\n<p>The blanks of the globoid cams are first generated by milling. After this processing, a certain allowance for the target geometry remains. The cams are then hardened to achieve the desired wear resistance.
